Overview

Bramley Fall is a native wood that’s more than 10,000 years old. This 5k trail run takes in the most beautiful and mysterious parts of the wood, river and canal.

Route Description

Begin your run at the Abbey Inn. Head over the road and down the canal towpath towards Kirkstall Forge train station.

At the lock head over the canal and up the steps into the woods. Follow the trail through the thick of the wood until you hit the rugby pitch.

Coast alongside the edge of the wood next to the rugby pitch. This tree-line will drop down through a high opening and bring you alongside the canal and back to the lock.

Cross back over and take a sharp left onto the opposite side of the canal. Here you will run alongside the water on a bridleway until you reach Newley Wood Lane bridge and the Abbey Inn.

Warnings

Where ever there’s water there’s a risk! In particular the blind corners on the canal path towards the latter end of the run. To avoid a clash with a cyclist or fellow runner give a loud call before taking a blind corner.
